An interview With Mark Goldenberg: By Jennifer Hore

Q: Filep of Un Nouveau Ideal commented on your collection saying, “Mark is probably the next couturier but he doesn’t know it yet. Fashion at this very moment starves for someone who can provide vision and craft as well as inspiration to the rest of his colleagues. I think that he can be the one.” How does this make you feel? Do you think it’s a fair representation of your work?

Mark:  It’s a huge compliment, especially coming from someone who is well educated about fashion. I’ve always thought of fashion as not only a form of expression but an art form. I think any profession in the world that is being done with passion, and a sense of purpose, could easily transform and inspire people. Oprah Winfrey once said she lives for the moment when someone says to her “I never thought of it that way before.” I can certainly identify with her statement. I’d love to use fashion as a way to introduce people to a different way of thinking and treating the silhouette of their bodies.
